Q. Am I allowed to run CGI/Perl scripts?
A. Yes, we allow the execution of CGI applications. Switch Networks does reserve the right to remove any scripts that are deemed to pose a security risk.

Q. My scripts are asking for the path to perl. What is it?
A. The sull path to the perl binary is /usr/bin/perl

Q. Where can I log into my control panel?
A. You can log in directly from our homepage. Otherwise, you can goto http://yourdomain.com/cpanel

Q. Where do I go to register a new domain?
A. You can visit our doain sales page at http://www.switchnetworks.com.au/whois.php

Q. What are your dns server names?
A. Our dns servers are dns01.switchnetworks.com.au and dns02.switchnetworks.com.au.

Q. How do I modify my contact details for my domain?
A. Log into the billing system, and you will find a link to your current domains. All aspects of your domain registration (contact details and DNS information) can be modified from here.

Q. What is domain lock?
A. This is a method of protecting your domain name from unauthorised transfers. It is reccomended that all domains remain in a locked state.

Q. What is the largest attachment I can receive?
A. Switch networks mail servers allow up to 10MB per email message.

Q. Do you scan email for viruses?
A. Yes, Switch Networks mail server scans all incoming mail for viruses. Be advised that this will not always be 100% effective. We reccomend you continue to scan your emails for viruses using the virus scanner on your PC.

Q. How can I stop all this SPAM getting into my mailbox?
A. Through your control panel you will be able to enable spamassassin. This can be configured to simply rewrite the subject line, or it can put suspected spam into a seperate mailbox (named spam) for later review. This mailbox is only accesible using webmail or IMAP.

Q. Do you support Secure POP3 and secure IMAP?
A. Yes. Both of these services are available.

Q. My email keeps saying authentication failed. What could be wrong?
A. First, ensure the mail server is correct. It should be mail.yourdomain.com. Also check that your login name is your FULL email address

Q. What other measures does SwitchNetworks take to reduce SPAM/UCE?
A. SwitchNetworks mail servers reject mail from hosts on a number of RBL's.

Q. What is a sub-domain?
A. A sub-domain is a hostname under your main domain name. For example, you may have domain.com and www.domain.com setup. If you wanted to setup another domain, such as support.domain.com this would be classified as a sub-domain

Q. Does a sub domain simply point to my main web pages?
A. No. A sub domain will be a seperate set of web pages in its own right.

Q. What webmail clients do you have?
A. Switch Networks offers squirrelmail, horde/IMP and neomail.

Q. How do I access these clients?
A. You can visit http://yourdomain.com/webmail. This will ask you to log in with your email username and password. Once logged in you will be presented with the 3 client choices.
